La famiglia comprende 4 specie raggruppate in 2 generi:[1]

- Sooglossus thomasseti Boulenger, 1909
Nel 2006 anche il genere Nasikabatrachus era stato inserito come appartenente alla famiglia Sooglossidae[2], ma poi è stato riclassificato in una famiglia a sé stante.[3][4]

Las ranas de las Seychelles (Sooglossidae) son un clado de anuros endémicos de las islas Seychelles. Hasta el 2006 se pensaba que incluía a los géneros Nesomantis y Sooglossus, pero estudios posteriores determinaron que se trataba del mismo género.[1] Así mismo, la rana púrpura (Nasikabatrachus sahyadrensis) fue en un principio asignada al grupo monotípico Nasikabatrachidae, siendo incluida por Frost et al (2006) dentro de Sooglossidae[2] y finalmente situada una vez más en su propio grupo.[3][1][fr] Sooglossidae
