Potarophytum is a group of plants in the family Rapateaceae described as a genus in 1939.[1][2]

The only known species is Potarophytum riparium, endemic to the Kaieteur National Park in the Potaro-Siparuni region of Guyana.[3][4]

Potarophytum, es un género monotípico de plantas herbáceas perteneciente a la familia de las rapatáceas. Su única especie: Potarophytum riparium Sandwith, Bull. Misc. Inform. Kew 1939: 21 (1939), es originaria de Guyana en Kaieteur Plateau.[1]
