Uromastyx aegyptia est une espèce de sauriens de la famille des Agamidae[1].

Répartition

Cette espèce se rencontre en Libye, en Égypte, en Israël, en Syrie, en Jordanie, en Arabie saoudite, au Yémen, en Oman, aux Émirats arabes unis, au Qatar, au Koweït, en Irak et en Iran[1].

Description

Cet agame peut atteindre 76 centimètres et a une longévité de 10 a 15 ans.

Étymologie

Le nom d'espèce, aegyptia, vient de sa présence en Égypte, lieu où elle a été décrite la première fois.
