Taxinomie
Le genre Calluella[3] a été placé en synonymie avec Glyphoglossus par Peloso et al. en 2015[4]. Les genres Colpoglossus[5], Dyscophina[6] et Calliglutus[7] avait été placés en synonymie avec Calluella par Parker en 1934[8].
Étymologie
Le nom du genre, Glyphoglossus, du grec γλύφω, glypho, « sculpté », et γλῶσσα, glossa, « langue », fait référence à sa langue divisée en deux moitiés latérales séparées par un profond sillon.
