Nélida María Bacigalupo (1924–2019) was an Argentine botanist, curator, and professor. She studied at the National University of La Plata, and in 1953, she received her doctorate in Natural Sciences at the same university. She served as an investigator at the Instituto de Botánica Darwinion, San Isidro, Buenos Aires. Bacigalupo did her botanical research in Paraguay and Argentina.[1] She was a world authority on the family Rubiaceae. She was a member of the Argentine Botanical Society, and was the honorary vice-president of the 33rd Argentine Botany Conference in 2011.[2]
