I Thermotogae rappresentano un phylum del dominio Bacteria. Il phylum Thermotogae è composto da batteri Gram-negativi, anaerobi, e per la maggior parte termofili e ipertermofili.[1][2]

Tassonomia

Questo phylum consiste di una sola classe (Thermotogae), quattro ordini (Thermotogales, Kosmotogales, Petrotogales, e Mesoaciditogales) e cinque famiglie (Thermatogaceae, Fervidobacteriaceae, Kosmotogaceae, Petrotogaceae, e Mesoaciditogaceae).[1][2][3][4][5][6][7] Contiene un totale di 15 generi e 52 specie.[8]
