Le latanier balai est originaire des Petites Antilles : Antigua, Barbade, Barbuda, Guadeloupe, Marie-Galante, Martinique, Sainte-Lucie et Trinité-et-Tobago, ainsi que d'une petite partie de la République dominicaine.
