The tufted shrub typically grows to a height of 0.15 to 0.4 metres (0 to 1 ft) and usually blooms between July and October producing yellow flowers.

It is found in the Wheatbelt region of Western Australia between Goomalling and Woodanilling where it grows in sandy-gravelly soils over laterite.[1]
