Habitat
They live within a terrestrial system, and their habitat can be found on sloping terrains among chalky rocks in deserts in Nuevo León in Mexico. The subpopulations are small and scattered widely within a large range.[1]
The average temperature that they can live in is about 50° Fahrenheit. They do best in light shade sun exposure. They have yellowish flowers with brownish mid-veins. They can either grow solitary or within small groups.[2]
Conservation
This species is recorded to be vulnerable to becoming an endangered species due to illegal collecting of this cactus for the commercial and amateur trade. Within the last ten years, there has been a ten percent decrease in the population and the population trend is currently decreasing.

Mammillaria weingartiana es una especie de planta perteneciente a la familia Cactaceae. Es endémico de Nuevo Leon en México. Su hábitat natural son los áridos desiertos. Está tratada en peligro de extinción por pérdida de hábitat. Mammillaria weingartiana fue descrita por Friedrich Boedeker y publicado en Monatsschrift der Deutschen Kakteen-Gesellschaft, E. V., Sitz Berlin 4: 219. 1932.[1][2] Mammillaria: nombre genérico que fue descrita por vez primera por Carolus Linnaeus como Cactus mammillaris en 1753, nombre derivado del latín mammilla = tubérculo, en alusión a los tubérculos que son una de las características del género. weingartiana: epíteto otorgado en honor del recolector de cactus Wilhelm Weingart.[3]Другой контент может иметь иную лицензию.
