I Rhamphorhynchidae sono una famiglia estinta di pterosauri "rhamphorhynchoidi" primitivi vissuti nel Giurassico inferiore-superiore, circa 180-148.5 milioni di anni fa (Norico-Titoniano), in Europa, Asia, Nord America, Sud America. La famiglia prende il nome dalla sua specie tipo, ossia Rhamphorhynchus. La famiglia Rhamphorhynchidae è stata nominata nel 1870 da Harry Govier Seeley.[10]

Nel 2018, l'omero di uno pterosauro datato al Giurassico superiore rinvenuto in Thailandia, originariamente assegnato ad Azhdarchoidea, è stato riassegnato alla famiglia Rhamphorhynchidae, da Unwin & Martill (2018).[11]
