Sturisoma aureum also known by the common names Whiptail, Gylden Størmalle (Denmark), Helikoptermal (Sweden), and Stoerwels (Germany) is a species of armored catfish endemic to Colombia. This species grows to a length of 20 centimetres (7.9 in) SL. This species can be found in the aquarium trade. The specific name translates to golden sturgeon.
