Cette espèce est endémique du Limpopo en Afrique du Sud[1].
Taxinomie
La sous-espèce Afroedura multiporis haackei[2] a été élevée au rang d'espèce par Jacobsen, Kuhn, Jackman et Bauer en 2014[3].
