Morfología

Los machos pueden alcanzar 12,5 cm de longitud total.[3]

Distribución geográfica

Se encuentran en el mar Rojo, golfo Pérsico, golfo de Omán, África Oriental, las Seychelles, India, Sri Lanka, Malasia, Indonesia y Hong Kong.[3]

Ostorhinchus fleurieu (flower cardinalfish,[1][2] gold cardinalfish,[1] bullseye cardinalfish,[1] cardinalfish,[1] ring-tail cardinalfish[1] or ringtailed cardinalfish[1]) is a species of cardinalfish native to the Red Sea and Persian Gulf, the Gulf of Oman, and the waters around East Africa, Seychelles, India, Sri Lanka, the Indo-Malayan region, and Hong Kong.,[3] south to the Ashmore Reef, Western Australia.[4] It is the type species of the genus Ostorhinchus.[5] The specific name honours the French explorer and hydrographer Charles Pierre Claret, comte de Fleurieu (1738-1810) who was a colleague and friend of Lacepède's.[6]
