Cette espèce est endémique de Hong Kong en Chine[1].
Description
Le mâle holotype mesure 9,64 mm[2].
Systématique et taxinomie
Cette espèce a été décrite sous le protonyme Heptathela hongkong par Song et Wu en 1997. Elle est placée dans le genre Vinathela par Ono en 2000[3], dans le genre Nanthela par Haupt en 2003[4], dans le genre Heptathela par Schwendinger et Ono en 2011[5] puis dans le genre Vinathela par Xu, Liu, Chen, Ono, Li et Kuntner en 2015[6].
Étymologie
Son nom d'espèce lui a été donné en référence au lieu de sa découverte, Hong Kong.
